Support
We're here to help.
Email support@meetyr.com and we'll reply within 2 business days. If you're reporting harassment or a safety issue, use the shield icon in the app. Safety reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

Account
I didn't get my confirmation or password reset code.
Codes come from no-reply@meetyr.com. Check your junk or spam folder, and in Outlook the "Other" tab. You can ask for a new code on the same screen. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
How do I change my profile?
Go to Me → Edit profile to change your photo, About text, category and privacy settings. You can switch between Person and Business until you've rated someone or been rated.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Me → Safety & reporting → Delete my account. If your account is paused, tap Delete my account on the paused screen. This permanently deletes your profile, photo, location, QR code and the ratings you gave and received, and it can't be undone. If you can't get into the app, email support@meetyr.com from the address you signed up with and we'll delete it for you.
To take a break instead, pause your account under Me → Safety & reporting → Suspend my account.
Ratings
How do scores work?
Every rating is a thumbs up (10) or thumbs down (1). Your Meetyr score is worked out from the ratings you've received. A new rating joins your score within about 15 minutes, once its 5-minute undo has passed. A rating from an account under 3 days old joins when the account is 3 days old. Who rated you shows in your Feed 3 at a time. The eraser takes its ratings out at once. A rating that's taken down, replaced, or from a deleted account drops out at the first update after midnight Pacific time. A person's score shows once ratings from 3 people count in it; a business's shows from its first rating.
What's the eraser?
Each person gets one eraser (Me → Eraser). It takes every rating you received in the last 7 days out of your score at once. The people who gave them can rate you again on a later day, by the usual rules. Business accounts don't have an eraser.
What does a rating mean?
A rating is about your most recent interaction with someone: how they treated you, never how they look. For a business, it's about your visit.
Can people see that I rated them?
Yes. Their Feed shows who rated them, but never whether it was a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Scores move within minutes, though, so if they know who just rated them, for example after a QR scan or a request they confirmed, they may be able to tell. If you'd rather they didn't see who, turn on Private profile in Me → Edit profile (for people): they see "A private member" instead of your name, photo and profile, for every rating you make while private, even after you turn it off. While private, you rate people within 1 mile or by scanning their QR code, since a request to someone farther away would show who's asking.
Rating a person more than a mile away
If a person is more than 1 mile away, you first confirm you'd like to rate your interaction with them, and they're asked to confirm the interaction. Your rating counts only if they do, and they never see it. If they decline or don't answer within 7 days, you can still rate them in person by scanning their QR code. You can withdraw a request any time until they answer, and undo your rating for 5 minutes after they confirm.
How often can I rate a business?
Once a day (Pacific time), from anywhere, so you can rate each visit. Businesses don't confirm ratings. Businesses marked "Not on Meetyr yet" can be rated within 1 mile, or for 12 hours after a visit noticed with visit reminders.
How does rating by QR code work?
In person, open Scan → My QR code and let the other person scan it. Each code works for one scan, and a new one appears as soon as it's used. The person scanning has 10 minutes to rate you, and a QR rating counts right away, however far apart you usually are.
Can I change a rating?
Yes, for 5 minutes after rating. Use Undo, or "Edit rating" under "Recently rated". After that, ratings are final.
I think a rating about me is unfair.
Tap the flag beside it in your Feed and tell us what's wrong. You can't delete a rating, but a moderator reviews every flag within 24 hours and removes ratings that break our Terms of Use, such as a rating from someone you never met, or coordinated or fake ratings. Moderators decide on whether the interaction was real, never on whether it was a thumbs up or down, and to keep the rating private we don't share the outcome.
Businesses
My business is on Meetyr, but I never signed up.
Meetyr lists some local businesses from open map data so members can find and rate them, marked "Not on Meetyr yet". To claim yours, ask for a change, or ask us to remove it, tap Own this business? Claim it or ask for a change on its profile, or see For business owners.
How do I get my business verified?
In the app, go to Me → Edit profile → Get verified. We check that your business is real and that you speak for it, usually within 2 business days. Verified businesses get a green check and can rate people.
Can a business remove its ratings?
No. Businesses can flag a rating they think is fake, like any member, but can't erase or remove ratings. When claiming a listing, an owner can choose once to start fresh instead of keeping the listing's ratings.
Visits
What are visit reminders?
An optional reminder to rate a business after you visit it. Turn it on in Me → Visits. After a visit of at least 5 minutes you get one notification asking how it was: at most one per business a day, and none once you've rated it. While Rate from the reminder is on (it starts on with visit reminders), a reminder about one business names it, on the lock screen too, so you can rate it with a thumbs up or down from there. Turn it off in Me → Visits and reminders never name the place. To be reminded while Meetyr is closed, set Meetyr's location to "Always"; with "While using", Meetyr notices a visit only when you open it at a business. Meetyr never watches sensitive places, such as health care, places of worship, bars, dispensaries, pawn shops, lawyers and adult stores.
What does "Let businesses know when I'm there" do?
If you turn it on in Me → Visits, a verified business on Meetyr sees your name and photo once you've been there a few minutes, if your phone's location clearly puts you at that business, and for 12 hours after. Where businesses are close together, such as in a food court, only the one you rate after your visit sees you. It never sees your thumb or where else you go, but a rating you make while it can see you may give your thumb away, since scores move within minutes. It's off unless you turn it on, and you never need it to rate.
Safety
How do I report or block someone?
Tap the shield icon on their profile or Discover card, then choose Report harassment or offensive content, Report a fake account, or Block. Blocking hides you from each other right away. On a business, you can also report that it's closed for good or doesn't exist.
Someone shared an intimate image of me without my consent.
We'll take it down. Email support@meetyr.com with the subject "Removal request". You don't need a Meetyr account. Please include:
- where the image is on Meetyr: the profile's name or @handle, or a screenshot of where you saw it;
- a short statement that you believe in good faith it was shared without your consent;
- how to reach you, if not at the email you write from;
- your signature: typing your full name is enough. If you're writing for someone else, say that you're allowed to act for them.
We remove the image within 48 hours of a request that includes these, and we look for and remove identical copies on Meetyr too. We'll reply with a reference number so you can follow up. You can also tap the shield icon on the profile and choose Report harassment or offensive content.
If an image shows someone under 18, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as the law requires. NCMEC's free Take It Down service can also help remove images of people under 18 from other sites.
Who can see my location?
No one sees your exact location. Other members can see roughly how far away you are, and you can turn that off in Edit profile. If you turn on "Let businesses know when I'm there", a verified business on Meetyr can see that you're there while you visit. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
